The Reno Pops Orchestra invites you to savor the spirit of the American West at a free, family-friendly concert on Saturday, July 12 at Bartley Ranch Regional Park. This program will include music by John Williams, Aaron Copland, and a guest appearance by Reno’s own Lacy J. Dalton. It will also feature the premiere of Jonathan Sokol’s After-Glow, a musical depiction of “The Ballad of Katie Hoskins,” a 1948 epic poem from Nevada’s past.
Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets—no glass bottles, please—or sample local favorites from our food truck vendors, including Taco T’s, Tap Wagon, Brazilian Gourmet, and Snowie.
Under the direction of conductor and artistic director Jane K. Brown, the Reno Pops Orchestra has become a mainstay of Reno’s cultural life, delivering free, family-friendly performances that have enriched the cultural life of Northern Nevada for more than four decades.

KNCJ 89.5 FM, KUNR Public Radio’s classical music and jazz station invites you to the fourth concert of its Biggest Little Concert Series! On Sunday, June 8, the reNEW String Quartet will bring a diverse and fascinating program to the University of Nevada’s Hall Recital Hall. The concert will feature music by local composers Jonathan Sokol, Jason Fromme, and Maxwell Lafontant, with arrangements of traditional folk songs by the famous Danish Quartet.
The KNCJ Biggest Little Concert Series, presented quarterly, features a combination of music performed by some of the Truckee Meadows’s finest musicians and casual conversation that is both musical and personal. Inspired by the legendary, long-running public radio program Saint Paul Sunday, the Biggest Little Concert Series is a showcase for local musicians.

reNEW Music's educational workshop, welcoming novice composers of all age to learn music-writing skills. Helmed by master composer Dr. Jean-Paul Perrotte, Associate Professor of Composition at UNR, and including some of the most sought-after New Music educators and ensembles acting as guest artists and clinicians.
